LEAD Neely’s Bend was established as a neighborhood-zoned charter school in 2015 and our mission is to offer a culturally responsive, academically rigorous school for the students of Madison, Neely's Bend, and the greater Nashville area. Neely's strives to show that all children, given the appropriate support and love, can succeed at the highest levels. One of the promises Neely's makes to its students is that 100% of our graduates can and will attend a four year college or university. This is what is possible and at LEAD we know this because for four years in a row 100% of our high school graduates have achieved college acceptance.
As part of a 2,400-student LEAD Public Schools charter network that graduated its first senior class in 2014, Neely's is proud to work within a network that is changing what is possible for the students of Nashville. Not only has every single graduating class at LEAD Academy earned 100 percent acceptance to college, members of our first LEAD senior class are set to graduate in May of 2018. To date, 44% of LEAD’s low-income, minority graduates (from 2014-2016) are persisting at four-year colleges, which is well above the national average of 10%.
The school demographics at Neely’s Bend are as follows: 442 students (as of Spring 2018); 41% Black; 43% Hispanic/Latino; 15% White; 1% Asian. The Exceptional Education population is 12%; the English Language Learner population is 20%,
Located at 1251 Neely’s Bend Road, LEAD Neely’s Bend’s mission is to prepare all of our students with the skills necessary to be prepared for college and life.
